Horizon Forbidden West Photo Mode Review

Photos Taken - 500+

Introduction

A slightly different review today, with it being based solely on the in-game photo mode that is used within Horizon Forbidden West. The review will take a look at the environment of Horizon Forbidden West, as well as looking at all the technicalities that the game offers. There will be no spoilers, and no mention of the story at all, so you can read this review without spoiling any of the game!

Environment

This is without a doubt, one of the most stunning environments I have ever seen in a videogame. In my time with the game so far I've taken well over 500 photos, it doesn't matter if you're taking a picture from the top of a mountain or taking a close up of Aloy, the level of detail is PHENOMENAL, just take a moment to go into photo mode and zoom in at Aloy, and see the creases on her lips as she smiles! One of my favourite pass times in the game is to go out exploring the vast game world and try and find the best angles and the most unique areas to take a photo.

Using Photo Mode

To get a great photo is easy when it comes to Forbidden West, due to just how beautiful everything is within the game. It's taking the perfect photo that becomes a challenge, whether it is timing the pause of the game or traipsing around the game world for hours to find that perfect location. Then there is the many options that come within photo mode. The options seem endless initially, but really once you have spent a few hours learning the ropes it's one of the simplest but effective photo modes you will ever use. With options such as changing Aloys facial expression, what time of day you'd like it to be or maybe even adding a filter than completely changes the dynamic of the photo. The options just keep going, so go and play around with them all and find your perfect photo.

Overall

The photo mode is an amazing tool that has been implemented to perfection in an already impressive game world, and if you are a virtual photographer this is must have game to add to your collection.
